On 18th January, 2015, Shri Zalawadi Mahila Mandal hosted a hugely successful programme in collaboration with Shree Zalawadi Sthanakwasi Jain Sabha named ‘Zalawad Jhankar’ to celebrate 40 years of Shri Zalawadi Mahila Mandal.
This programme was made possible by the generous support and donations from Smt. Kokilaben Gunvantrai Shah, Smt. Diptiben Hiteshbhai Jobalia, Smt. Shrutiben Mayankbhai Shah and Smt. Deepikaben Manishbhai Shah, whose contributions were recognised and felicitated by way of beautiful gift hampers during the programme.
The show was a brainchild of Smt. Manishaben Mineshbhai Shah and was held at Mumbai’s Sanmukhanad Hall after 6 months of hard work. The show began with a Red Carpet, where important dignitaries were interviewed upon their arrival and their interviews shown live to the audience by way of massive screens placed strategically around the auditorium. This was followed by a Dance competition in which all the ladies of Bruhad Mumbai participated. In order to personalise and humanise all the participants to the audience, Manishaben and her team personally went to visit and interview all participating groups across all the centres in Mumbai. Their videos were shown as preview before their dance performances began. The Dance competition was judged by Bollywood choreographer Smt. Saroj Khan along with Chief Guests – Actor Jackky Bhagnani and Choreographer Sandip Soparrkar.
Following the Dance Competition, a fashion show was held where the models were none other than the beautiful daughters of our Zalawadi community. This was one of the first times ever where a show encouraged the younger community members to participate with such enthusiasm. The fashion show was a glittering saga of enthusiastic models, beautiful outfits and jewellery by acclaimed Celebrity Fashion Designer – Amy Billimoria.
